A transformer is not one thing made in one place. Marathon buys first-line materials from the same mills and fabricators that supply the world's largest OEMs, holds them to a documented quality assurance program at every stage, and then builds, fills, tests and ships the finished unit for American service — so the unit that arrives at your site is an American made transformer with a global supply chain behind it.

"American made" is a claim a utility has to be able to defend on a federally funded project. Marathon keeps sourcing, content and documentation records to the requirements of the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA), on both the overseas and the domestic side of the chain — so the paperwork supports the label rather than the other way around.

First-line component supply

Direct relationships with the same overseas mills and component fabricators that supply the world's largest transformer OEMs — silicon steel, copper windings, bushings, tap changers and tank fabrication. Multiple qualified sources per component, so no single mill can stall a build.

On-site QC, overseas

Marathon engineers operate inside partner factories — performing in-process inspection, factory acceptance testing, and final witness testing before any unit is cleared for shipment to the United States.

Build America, Buy America

A global supply chain does not mean a loose one. Marathon holds sourcing, documentation and content records to the requirements of the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) — so federally funded utility and infrastructure work stays compliant on both the overseas and domestic sides of the chain.
